Hi Marcus, Our project is a manufacturing building. The 'widget maker' requires chilled water which is typically provided by the chiller/cooling tower. However, the process designer figured out that chilled water can be provided without a chiller and purely cool the water evaporatively with a cooling tower. Our baseline model includes a 90.1 screw chiller with a cooling tower. Our proposed includes a cooling tower and no chiller. I am wondering if you concur with our method of defining the baseline. Thank you for your guidance.

It sounds like the chilled water is for a process load. if so it must be modeled identically to the proposed. If you want to try an claim savings you need to do an exceptional calculation and justify your baseline. Hard to say if this is a reasonable baseline without knowing much more about the specific process. Ultimately you would need to show that the use of a chiller for this purpose is standard practice in the area for this particular process to justify the baseline you propose.
