NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Commercial Interior; EAc1.3

Hi Marcus, Could you please advice me about the following situation: Regarding Option 1 of credit EAc1.3 of CI, the reviewers are requesting an extra CO2 sensor to be added for the densely occupied spaces saying that only a thermostat is not enough. At the same time, the AHU systems inquestion are complying to the conditions of 6.4.3.9 exception a., being with a flow rate greater than 2400 L/s and with an arrangement for 100% OA. The systems are DOA units with fancoils. If providing a documentation as a prove of this is used as an answer to why the control is only a thermostat, could this be compliant to the credit requirements. Besides the AHUs are having an unoccupied temperature setback controls, following the operating hours of the servicing zones (as a whole, not individually however). Thanks

Could you review the issues posted in CI EAc1.3 forum? I think this was addressed by some LEED Interpretations mentioned there. If your question is still not answered please post it in the CI EAc1.3 forum and I will try to answer it there. Just trying to make sure the forums are about the prerequisite/credit in question so others can more easily see and search the answers.
