Copy area in office - acoustical treatment

Hi, we are designing an office space which will have a copy area ( 2 to 3 floor model copiers) adjacent to an open office space. The copy area will have full height walls enclosing the area but has no doors. If the team wants to pursue the acoustic performance credit, what are the provisions needed to treat this space -- a door with STC 50 rating with self closer?

You would need a composite STC rating of 50 between the copy room and the office (STCc). The composite rating takes the rating of the wall (which may be higher than 50) as well as the rating of the door (which would typically be lower than 50) and combines the two based on the relative square footages. You could do an internet search for 'composite STC calculation' to find ways to do this if you don't have an acoustical consultant.
