Dear all, We are working on a LEED EB project that wants to explore this credit, I understand the requirements are to monitor all energy sources, as the pre-requisite states, and additionally all sources that might represent 20% or more of anual consumption. The tenants have a submeter per tenant, but how much detail is required, is it necessary to monitor their interior panels? (lighting, plug loads, individual HVAC systems) Thank you!

Unfortunately submetering of a tenant space is not considered to be an 'end use'. 'End uses' are interior lighting, space cooling, space heating, pumps, fans, heat rejection, exterior lighting, service water heating, and receptacle equipment. If the 'end use' (e.g building's chiller) serves multiple tenants that include similar occupancies (e.g. office) and similar operating hours then then monitoring the chiller can be considered submetering of the buildings space cooling 'end use'. If each tenant has their own cooling equipment, then each would need to be metered IF space cooling accounted for 20% or more of the total annual consumption of the building minus plug loads. Thank you David! So just so I get it right, we should monitor the tenant's lighting panels, if lighting load turned out to be 20% or more of the anual consumption?
