We've heard that per a recent LEED clarification for filtration credit requirements, MERV 13 filtration is required on ALL outdoor air handling units, not just those serving regularly occupied spaces as currently noted in the LEED forms. Is that correct?

MERV 13 filters are required for all units providing outdoor air to either regularly occupied areas (e.g. offices) and non-regularly occupied areas (e.g. break rooms).
Units providing outdoor to unoccupied areas (e.g. inactive storage) do not require MERV 13 filters granted they do not serve any regularly or non-regularly occupied areas also.

Based on the rating system correction ID# 100000426 (7/19/2010), I think that the sentence "MERV 13 filtration for each ventilation system serving regularly occupied spaces with outdoor air" in the Bird's Eye View should be updated. The correct phrase should read "serving both regulary and non-regularly occupied spaces"
