' LEED will accept the establishment of a permanent private shuttle bus to a place where there is direct access to rail or two or more bus lines' Can this be applied to a project going for Multiple Building approach?

Febin, yes but be sure your shuttle meets the criteria per addendum published 4/1/12: "provide direct access to transit facilities within 2 miles of the project site, approximately a 5-10 minute drive, and must be available to all project occupants."

Thank you so much for your reply Marilyn. Is there any criteria that must be followed for the shuttle bus within the project site, i.e., where the shuttle bus stop should be provided within the site or any such criteria.

Hi, I have a similar question i have a project inside an industrial park a shuttle service operates for all projects inside and connect to public transportation the thing is the trayectory inside the park is more than 2 miles. does anyone know if the 2 miles shuttle distance can be counted from outside the park up to the public stops? the shuttle need to make all the trayectory inside to pick up everyone so obviously the distance exceed. the 2 miles distance from the park it will comply.

Hi Maria, I am not aware of an exception to this but review the CIR library and see if there are any standing rulings you might be able to reference. Another option is to contact GBCI directly and explain your case. Typically they allow exceptions if you can prove the project still meets the intent of the credit but it really is a case by case basis. Keep in mind this credit is intended to reward projects for developing/locating in dense areas so your project might not be a good fit.
