Hello. In the v3, green roof area is included to comply with this credit, considering vegetaded surface. I haven't read in the Ref. Guide anything about this credit. Do you think a surface of green roof that meet the 20% of the site complies with the credit? Can green wall could be used and reported also per surface, in this case vertical surface?

Hi, I also had the same/similar question.
On the step-by-step guidance it says "Option 1 is for projects with large, contiguous parcels of land."
So my question is: if the project is a campus that is being certified following the Campus Approach and where the site area is just the buildings' footprint and a small area for parking spaces (i.e. no large, contiguous parcels of land), does that mean Samantha (or anyone) that if I install a green roof with adaptive species over one of the buildings so that it occupies 20% of the total area I would still get the two points?

To follow up on the questions regarding green roof. If roof area and ground landscape aren't sufficient to meet the 20% requirement, could I possibly count the large planters we have located on the large balconies on several floors of our building?

Hi April, in the past planter boxes typically weren't considered compliant because they were unlikely to provide meaningful habitat / promote biodiversity. I don't believe that's changed with v4, but you could try submitting your project and see if it passes with the breakdown of planters, landscaping, and green roof spaces that you have. It might help to provide a list of the specific species that are supported by your balcony planters (pollinators, other insects, birds, etc).
