CI-2009 IEQc6.2:Controllability of Systems—Thermal Comfort

Reusing HVAC system from base building

Hi all, I have a question regarding thermal comfort control. If the tenanted area is reusing the HVAC system from base building. Can we be exempted from the individual control requirement? The entire space is having shared group control. We have both individual workstation and share multioccupant space.

Michael, All individual workstations need to have individual controls in order to earn this point. There are no exemptions for this credit, even if the project space is served by base building HVAC systems. It seems to me, based on the description of controls, that your project may not be able to pursue this credit.
