We are looking at a high rise residential project, to be NCV2009. Our electrician is stating all hallways need occupancy sensors. We believe this is not a practical option for the hallways of an apartment building, as they are 24 hour operation AND a security issue. Would they be required by the USGBC? This seems to meet the exception list for 9.4.1.1. Also, how does this apply to the apartment units themselves? Thanks.
