Rainfall Rates in Inches

Dear LEEDers, Can someone confirm that a rainfall of 1 inch per 24 hours is 1 inch per 1 inch squared of ground surface? Thank-you, Ian

An inch of depth is an inch of depth across any surface. So in your scenario you would have 1 in^3 Check your units, most likely the units are 1-inch/hour for a 24 hour duration. An inch in 24 hours would be 1/24-inch/hour for a 24-hour duration.
