Hello, we are working on a very small 12 room hotel in a historic landmark building, and were considering moving the project from LEED v2009 to LEED V4, but find some issues with this credit requiring in V4. 4 spaces for short term and additional 4 spaces for long-term, so 8 in total?, in LEED v2009 with our occupancy rate including hotel guests, our requirement with the 5% was only 3 spaces, which we could barely fit in the project. Is there a way of avoiding the 8 spaces? with regional or historical considerations? or would this credit be lost in the process of moving to LEED v4?

Hi Veronica, Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the requirements with regional or historical considerations. If 8 spaces could not fit into the project, this credit would most likely need to be dropped if the project moved to v4. One thing to note, is that there are different location requirements for the long term vs the short term spaces. The short term spaces must be within 100 feet of the main entrance, while the long term spaces must be within 100 feet of any entrance. Therefore if there are space issues near the entrance, you may still be able to earn this credit by placing the four long term spaces in another location around the building. Hope this helps!
