Hello everyone,
This question references LEED CI Canada version 1.0.
The credit language makes it seem like thermal AND ventilation controls must be provided for:
- 50% of individual spaces / open-plan offices
- all multi-occupant spaces
Our project is a large open-plan office. Our plan was to provide ventilation control through adjustable dampers in the underfloor ventilation in the open-office.
However the credit language makes it sound like we would also need a thermal control for 50% of the occupants in the open-office. Does anyone have any experience with this credit and how the CaGBC will interpret?

Hi Sabrina,
It looks like the LEED CI Canada 1.0 version is similar to CI v2.0 which does require the controls to address both thermal and ventilation. The reference guide doesn't appear to provide any additional content addressing what types of controls qualify for this. However, the underfloor ventilation should qualify for both as long as the outdoor air is being delivered by the underfloor mechanical heating and cooling system.
Hope that helps!
Lauren
