NC-v4 MRc3:Building product disclosure and optimization - sourcing of raw materials

LEED NC - v4 MRc3 Wood products

The language of NC v4 does not specifically call out new wood. "Wood products must be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council or USGBC-approved equivalent. Products meeting wood products criteria are valued at 100% of their cost for the purposes of credit achievement calculation." Does this mean that FSC Recycled wood may apply to this portion of the credit in v4? Or should FSC Recycled wood be handled the same as it is with v3 and should be counted toward recycled content and not certified wood?

Hi Sandra, According to the LEED v4 Reference Guide, products identified as FSC Recycled Credit contribute 100% postconsumer recycled content and products identified as FSC Recycled [NN] % contribute the percentage postconsumer recycled content indicated [NN]. Karin
