I am working on a rather unique residence hall building that has a variety of uses. I am trying to determine what spaces need bike storage and shower/changing facilities. The following is the space type break down: Residential (+90% of total GSF) - will provide 15% covered bike parking Multi Purpose / Class Rooms (8,575 sf) - based on the LEED Interpretation #10209, we will need to provide bike parking/showers for this portion? Dining Hall (22,135 sf) - based on the LEED Interpretation #10209, we will need to provide bike parking/showers for this portion? Can the multi purpose/class rooms be effectively lumped into the residential portion of the building as "amenity" spaces? We intend to provide bike parking and a changing facility for the Dining Hall either way.

Can you tell us more about how the Multi-Purpose / Class Rooms and the Dining Hall will be used / staffed? Will the classrooms have staff or professors (or the same students) there for long periods of time? Are they expected to be used multiple times a week? What about the Dining Hall -- how long is it open each day? What kind of staff is there working (how long, etc.) You also might want to take a look at LEED Interpretation #30002 http://www.usgbc.org/leed-interpretations?keys=30002
