Modeling Radiant Panels with DOAS

Since eQUEST is unable to model dedicated outdoor air system linked to the radial panels, we modeled DOAS units by creating “dummy zones” within the model. Does this simulation method require an exceptional calculation or is it enough to explain it in the input summary report, attached to the EAp2 form? Thanks.

Technically all work arounds are supposed to be performed as an exceptional calculation according to G2.5. We try to apply some common sense to whether exceptional calculations are needed or not. In this case an exceptional calculation does not make any sense. An exceptional calculation requires three models, baseline, proposed without and proposed with. If the model cannot model the situation I am not sure what your Proposed model without would model. With many situations like this there are acceptable work arounds that should be used, just explain the work around and cite the source.
