LEED BD+C 2009 vs v4

Hi, I'm working on the certification of a high school, it would be my first certification. I became a LEED AP BD+C with the v4, but I have been reading that almost all the projects get certified with the version 2009. Which one is better? I did the Green Associate with the version 2009 so I know a little bit about the differences. Hope you could answer my question. Thanks!!
