cxa requirements

It is difficult to determine from what you have written. There is not a requirement for size, it only states experience as CxA for two buildings. Managing the process would not seem to count, however if you were involved in the implementation and development of the process on a project, even if not the designated CxA, then that should be sufficient. That is how I see new commissioning staff brought into the practice. They work with an experienced person for a couple three projects, progressively doing more and more, then they are named the CxA and are supported by the more senior individual. So, unless you were the CxA or were performing the tasks under a qualified person, I do not think just having the certification would be sufficient.

Andres, it does sound like you are building the requisite experience to be the CxA for a project. Experience in different systems and equipment is always the hardest. In larger firms, there is always someone who can help with more unusual or unique systems, but in smaller firms, you may have to do more research or see assistance if you get to something you have not seen before. Designing the functional performance tests is one of the most difficult tasks in the process, and having foundational understanding of the systems is important to success.
