Invase Plant Species and Sprays

Hi All, We have a project that sometimes treats their meadows to control thistle and invasive plant species. If this is required to be tracked, would this be more suitable tracked in SSc3 IPM or SSc2 Hardscape Management plan? In addition, is anyone familiar with the standard used to rate plant sprays so I can check to ensure the spray my client uses is least toxic? Thanks!

Hi Sara, I’d track herbicide applications under SSc3, since the IPM component of the credit addresses outdoor pests including plants, fungi, insects, and animals. You should reference the SF Pesticide Hazard Screening List for least-toxic products, available at http://www.sfenvironment.org/sites/default/files/fliers/files/sfe_th_pesticides_reviewed_091313.pdf
