CS-2009 PIf2:Project Summary Details

LEED site definition

Hi, I am doing an office tower which locates on a podium together with another tower. I just choose the total building site as the LEED site. But after submitted for the pre-certification, the response said that the site shouldn't includes the podium and the other tower, in addition to the office tower that is pursuing certification. So I dont know how to set the LEED boundary. Shall I just set the boundary which only has the office building in it? Thanks a lot!

Hi Jie. Maybe these definitions from the MPR Supplemental Guidance Revision #2, Last Updated: September 1, 2011 (http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-2009-mpr-supplemental-guidance-revision-2-september-2011) can help: -LEED Project: All real property within the LEED project boundary, including the building(s) or space(s), all structures, land, etc. which collectively are attempting or have earned certification. -LEED Project Boundary: The line that indicates the limits of the real property for which the project team is attempting or has earned certification. -LEED Project Building: The structure which is attempting or has earned certification. It seems that you have a vertically attached case (i.e. a certifying tower on top of a non-certifying podium). You can retort to the explanation under the "BUILDINGS ATTACHED TO NON-LEED CERTIFIED BUILDINGS" section on page 17 of the stated Supplemental Guidance document.
