NC-2009 IEQc1:Outdoor Air Delivery Monitoring

Outdoor air delivery monitoring

If the project is a core & shell design and the distribution of the area is not know (tenants space) yet, is it correct to specify only a CO2 sensor on the return duct of the AHU?

Hi Rodrigo, No, a CO2 sensor in the return duct won't do you anything good either for earning the credit or for knowing whether you have properly ventilated the space. For core & shell projects, you have to provide a building automation system that has the capacity for future tenants to add CO2 sensors in their densely occupied spaces. You also have to provide the direct outdoor airflow measurement and corresponding controls to monitor and alarm in the core & shell design (assuming that you are installing an HVAC system in the core & shell package). Hope this helps, John
