CS-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
Hello Marcus.
I have a question regarding minimum air flows for a core and shell project.
the minimun cfm for the simulation must be the same in the energy model and IEQ p1 and IEQ c1. So I was using the cfm from the IEQ form under Design OA intake flow for the minimun air flows (nominal cfm for the fan). However the HVAC systems has VAV and will reduce the supply air depending of the thermal load.
So should I use the values from Design OA intake flow or VOT for my energy model.

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

Always model the proposed as designed, not using the calculated values. In the baseline model the system with the identical OA except when there is DCV in the proposed system then model the VOT in the baseline.
