Hello Marcus!
In the HVAC design of a project, there is a space where supply ventilation is included in order to accomplish the minimum amount of air required by ASHRAE 62.1-2007 standard. However, no cooling or heating system exists. Can we consider this space as ventilated only? or Do we have to simulate it as conditioned?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like unconditioned space to me.

Hi, we have a similar case where a corridor in the basement is ventilated with only the minimum amount of outdoor air required by ASHRAE 62.1-2007. The outdoor air for this space comes from the same AHU that supplies OA to the office areas.
In the proposed I would model this as designed (OA supplied by the office AHU), but I'm not sure how to model the OA in the baseline. Since the corridor is considered "unconditioned" I wouldn't model any baseline system for the basement level.
But how do I supply the required OA to this corridor (given tha OA rates need to match in Proposed and Baseline)? Do I just connect it to the same Baseline system used for the Office floors (system 7)?
Thanks

Are the surrounding spaces conditioned? Could the corridor be considered indirectly conditioned? If there are surrounding conditioned spaces how is the conditioned air prevented from entering the corridor? If it is indirectly conditioned then it is considered part of the conditioned space.

The corridor is surrounded by unconditioned spaces (storage areas and plantrooms). This is just a circulation area connecting the lift lobby in the basement to the underground car park. There is a single air duct that branches off from the office AHU main ductwork and supplies the minimum OA to this space. Can this be considered an indirectly conditioned space?
If it is an indirectly conditioned space, do I need to model a baseline system type 7 serving this corridor only (1 system per floor and this would be the only 'conditioned' area in the basement)?
