CS-2009 PIf3:Occupant and Usage Data

Plf3 Actual / Estimated Occupants

Hello, We are going C&S, but we know the occupants for one tenant and we are projecting the occupants for the other tenants, which is how we calculated WE1 and is based on the IBC 2009 Occupancy counts. I looks as though LEED wants us to use the default counts. As we fall in the middle between actual and projected, what should we show here? Thanks -Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel. If the projected occupancy does not include nonstandard occupancy patterns, in the Occupant Information section of the PIf3 form, you should choose the following option "Actual, historical and/or projected project occupancy does not include nonstandard occupancy patterns". It seems that the form does not make a difference if they are actual or projected, as long as they do not comprise nonstandard occupancy patterns. If you want to add / explain your case, you can always use the Additional Details section, checking the box Special circumstances, and add a brief explanation. I hope that helps.
