I am trying to calculate the requirements and was wondering about some technical details. This is for a library on a college university. 1. Does the window sill have to be between 30-90"? We have windows that start on the floor and go up to the ceiling, so the Window falls in the height requirement, but not the sill. 2. How much of the Window needs to be in view? If I'm standing in a aisle and look to the exterior glazing but only see a small amount of glazing (6"), does this count.

Hi Brian The window layout you described would meet the requirement, as you are exceeding the values listed in the Reference Guide. So you're good to go there. As for your second question, there is no clear answer here that I'm aware of. What I would recommend is for you to make a value judgement of if you think the space should qualify based on the credit intent. Maybe, for your team, something like 6 square inches is the minimum amount required for an area to meet the credit intent. I know it's vague, but you won't have to include your rational in the documentation, so do what is meaningful for your project. Best of luck, Hannah

Thank you. One more thing, please. What is the criteria for a library on how to determine the occupancy rating of a room? Say like a copy room, storage room, mech/maintenance room, etc, are these considered in just the total Sq ft or both total and occupant space? Also, say the window doesn't fall into the 30-90" range but is still visible, does that count? Thank you for all your help
