Hello.
Two questions:
Are existing constructions required to be part of the project stormwater management? The reference book wording refers to "management plan for the project".
Are non-infiltration water tanks acceptable as a type of stormwater management? They would be accepted for LEED NC 2009 stormwater management.

Noriko, the credit applies to a project's 'development footprint,' which is defined as items constructed as part of the project, so existing buildings and streets are not included. This was confirmed for streets in LEED Interpretation 10272 on January 1, 2013. In addition to the development footprint, any areas graded to an impervious level or that generate pollution must be included. Regarding a water tank, it's ok as long as its contents are reused or evapotranspired, if I'm understanding the question correctly.

Hi Eliot,
Let me ask an additional question. If an existing building is located within the ND project boundary, and the building interior, some kinds of equipement inside of the building and hardscape and landscape around the building will be re-newed, but the building envelope will not be altered, then the develpment footprint of the existing building includes hardscape and landscape around the building, and building footprint itself can be excluded from the development footprint, is my understanding correct?
As always, thank you very much for your instruction in advance.
