NC-2009 SSc4.2:Alternative Transportation—Bicycle Storage and Changing Rooms

Exemplary performance for providing showers for 60% of FTE's

We're working on a Fire Station with 10 FTE's and 6 showers (60%). Since the requirement for SSc4.2 is only 0.5%, our solution seems like it would be considered exemplary. I've checked the box reserving one point in Innovation in Design related to this. I'm wondering if there is any downside or risk of checking this (does not appear to require any add'l documentation) and what is the likelihood of achieving this?

This approach would not work for exemplary performance unless you could clearly demonstrate how the additional showers will actually substantially increase the number of occupants who use alternative transportation (bikes) to access the site. Also, the traditional exemplary peformance path for SSc4.1-4.4 is to develop a Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan, which does require a fair amount of additional documentation.

Thanks, I kind of suspected that might be the case.
