This is a V4 doubt but I cant imagine anyone is monitoring the V4 forum so i decided that posting it here would be more effective. Does anyone know wether or not evaporator input power should be included in the efficiency calculation of a VRF system? At first look it seems obvious that it should but then you start comparing it to the efficiency requirements of a chilled water system and everything gets kinda confusing. You obviously dont include fancoil/ahu unit power input into your chiller efficiency calculation, so why would you include evaporator input power into your VRF system calc? Would it just be condenser cooling output divided by condenser input power? The funny thing is that the AHRI test procedures for split systems include evaporator input power.
