NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

ASHRAE 90.1-2010 VRF Requirements

Does anyone know wether or not evaporator input power should be included in the efficiency calculation of a VRF system? At first look it seems obvious that it should but then you start comparing it to the efficiency requirements of a chiller and everything gets kinda confusing. You obviously dont include fancoil unit power input into your chiller efficiency calculation.

I am not sure but you could probably find out by getting a copy of the referenced standard - AHRI 1230. Looks like it is a free download. http://www.ahrinet.org/ansi_ahri+1230_2010+with+addendum+1_++performance+rating+of+variable+refrigerant+flow+_vrf_+multi_split+air_conditioning+and+heat+pump+equipment.aspx
