Pilot Credit vs EAc5

I am working on a LEED NCv2.2 academic building which has completed its EAc5 Measurement and Verification effort. I am trying to understand how EAc5 and the pilot credit differ. Is it an accurate to say the pilot credit requires the analysis of the EAc5 findings in the form of a final report? Any insight would be most helpful. It would seem like these two would build on each other, therefore both could be pursued by a single project. I'm having a hard time drawing the line between where one "stops" and the other picks-up. Thank you!

This particular pilot credit is for CI projects. There is a similar one for NC. It is essentially the same as the v2.2 EAc5 requirements except the IMPVP referenced is a bit newer. No huge differences however, so if you have done EAc5 in v2.2 this would not really apply.

Oh, shoot, yes, I am in the wrong part of the site. Thanks for your input all the same. I posed the question to the GBCI as well, we'll see what they say. You are confirming my suspicions.

Further update, the GBCI responded to my question and is allowing my project to pursue both EAc5 - M&V and Pilot Credit 27. See their quoted response below. "Thank you for contacting LEED Support regarding pilot credits that are similar to regular credits. Yes, pilot credit may be attempted even if they are partial duplication of regular ones. Pilots are being evaluated for potential permanent use so your use of them and feedback is valuable to us."
