NC-2009 IEQc6.1:Controllability of Systems—Lighting

Conference Tables in an Open-plan Office

Our project interior has two conference tables placed in an open-plan office, for team discussions and brain-storms that are casual and spontaneous. There is no task lighting or multi-level switches to control the lighting for these tables. My question is, which type of space are these tables categorized, open-plan workstation or conference room? And does this design affect the compliance of credit 6.1?

Hi Ting, It sounds like this space would be designated as a multi-occupant space and that you would need to provide lighting system controls to enable adjustments that meet group needs and preferences.

Thanks a lot! I guess I‘ll have to withdraw this credit, it's too late to change the lighting system design.
