Hi All We have an unusual project... Completed in 2008 but remaining unoccupied thought the 'crisis'. It was recently sold and the new investor wishes for LEED certification. He does not prefer EBOM as it will take too long. As tenants are now moving in and the investor is recommissioning making significant upgrades to systems (HVAC, BAS/BMS, etc) is it possible to go for a CS certification. Any advice appreciated M

Markievicz. Very unlikely that you will get this LEED CS unwound especially if the building was not registered as a LEED CS in 2008...which I assume it was not. And why would you not go EB...because it takes too long? We have completed EB in 91 days PLUS GBCI approval time and I hardly think that any other LEED rating can be completed so quickly. Your commissioning process 'should' slot straight into LEED EB and help the points situation....the biggest problem?...Energy Star which 'needs' several months of energy use under normal conditions, hardly a problem if the building is performing well.
