So the first AND in this credits as follows: Wall, ceiling and flooring systems and finishes, composite wood, agrifiber and fiberglass products, both exterior and interior adhesives, sealants, coatings, roofing, and waterproofing products must meet the relevant IEQ Credit 4: Low-Emitting Materials requirements to contribute toward the credit. I don't quite understand the "both exterior and interior adhesives, sealants, coatings, roofing, and waterproofing products" part. So for roofing, if the roofing is being submitted for recycled content, the associated adhesives and sealant would have to comply with IEQc4-Group 5, correct? If for example interior wood doors are being submitted for FSC Certified Wood, the doors would have to meet the requirements of IEQc4-Group 4, correct? If the door has a window and glazing sealant is used to seal the window, does the glazing sealant have to comply with IEQc4-Group 1 requirements? If the door gets field-painted, would the paint have to comply with IEQc4 - Group 2 requirements? Just want to understand how much of a domino affect this has... Is GBCI saying that in order to achieve any of the MRc3 credits all exterior and interior adhesives, sealants, coatings and waterproofing products need to comply with IEQc4 requirements? or does GBCI mean ASSOCIATED exterior and interior adhesives, sealants, coatings and waterproofing products? I thought roofing was an exterior product...

The reference guide says "Ensure that all materials included in the credit calculation must also meet the requirements of IEQ credit 4..." My personal interpretation is that if you want to include an FSC wood door in the calculation, then the wood itself (and not the sealants, coatings, etc.) must meet EQc4. After all, you're only including the cost of the FSC wood in MRc3. If you're also including paint (e.g. if it has recycled content) then the paint would also need to meet EQc4.
This is just my interpretation - I haven't submitted anything yet.
Many components of roofing systems are exterior products. I'm not sure what your question is.
So if you are not pursuing the IEQc4-Group 5 Exterior Applied Products portion of the credit, now does that marry with IEQc4 requirements set by MRc5?
Would only the applicable exterior adhesives, sealants, coatings, roofing, and waterproofing products have to comply?
The way I read this, any individual product included in the MR3 calculation must achieve any relevant requirement listed in EQc4, regardless of whether or not the project is pursuing that point. They're not telling us that achievement of the EQc4 points is a prerequisite for this credit. The intent is that we aren't allowed to consider sacraficing health concerns to select a material for MRc3.
In my experience, the majority of products that qualify for the different MRc3 criteria should either automatically or easily also qualify for EQc4. Hopefully this won't be a big deal.
