Our CI project won't be occupied until 2015 and the IT and AV equipment schedules aren't yet detailed, just an outline of the power demands for the M&E design is available. We know that the equipment will be specified as Energy Star but at the moment we don't know the exact specification or how much of the equipment will be new - is it acceptable to make a best guess of the equipment at this stage for the design submittal and then update this design stage credit again at the end of construction ?

You could do that. You also have the option of deferring this prerequisite to the construction review phase.

You can defer it ? to do this do you just not target it at the design stage at all or target it but leave the details in the template blank ?
many thanks

If you are doing a split review you can defer design phase credits to the construction review phase. All you would do is continue to indicate you are pursuing that credit. You can leave it blank or partially completed. If it is deferred it will not be reviewed with the other design credits.
