CI-2009 IEQc6.1:Controllability of Systems—Lighting

Bank tellers need tasklighting?

Would bank teller stations need tasklighting (or are they considered workstations) for the purpose of this credit?

Typically, I have treated teller stations as individual workstations in the past. But, in a banking center environment, you can really treat it either way. You can claim each teller station as an individual workstation, in which case you would want to provide a task light for each. Or, you could treat the entire teller line as a multi-occupant space, in which case you would want to provide multi-zone lighting control. A clear argument can be made for either case. You would just need to explain your approach and be consistent between credits if pursuing IEQc6.2 as well.

You can also reference LEED for Retail as a helpful example of how this is handled.
