Review comments have asked us to include circulation space in our VRP calculator. However, the corridors in the building will not be served by direct air supply. Does that mean we cannot achieve the credit? Is there a case for exemption?
Any insight would be of great help
Many thanks

Are people spending extended periods of time in the corridors? Sometimes chairs are shown in corridors and it throws off the LEED reviewers. Explain that the corridors are not regularly occupied spaces and they are being served by transfer air.

I have a similar situation where the lift lobby in typical floors are enclosed without air ventilation as the space will be used by one flat unit only and no one will stay there for more than 2 minutes a day. We made an general enquiry to the USGBC and they said ventilation is required for such space. It is difficult if what the standard wants are direct fresh air supply from the outside as we have to re-design the airflow system with a long FAD, but will be easier if transfer air from the naturally ventilated flat is acceptable to fulfill the VRP requirement. Any opinions ?

Hello MM K,
did you manage to have your space accepted?
Thanks

Hi Adrienn,
Partially - we provided the Equation A-2 for the corridors but the review team asked for even more clarification and how the values are applicable. We are still working on that and trying to figure out what more they require exactly.
