I am currently working on a Performing Arts Center that includes only shared multi-occupant spaces (classroom and auditorium) and does not include any individual occupant areas. The first part of the credit addresses shared multi-occupant lighting control for which all of our shared multi-occupant spaces have their own control. The second part, which relates to my question, is to “Provide individual lighting controls for 90% (minimum) of the building occupants to enable adjustments to suit individual task needs and preferences.” In the building, there are no individual occupant/workstation areas, and therefore the 90% credit minimum does not apply. When filling out the Lighting Controls Table in the letter template under ‘Individual Occupants’ because the ‘Total Quantity’ and ‘Lighting Control Coverage (Quantity)’ are both input as 0, the ‘Lighting Control Coverage (%)’ is undefined and the Summary section indicates that "0" points have been documented.

Can this credit be achieved if we do not have any individual workstations (but do have shared multi-occupant spaces? Is it as simple as marking the special circumstances box in the letter template and providing a narrative describing how the part of the credit pertaining to individual workstations does not apply? I want to ensure that the letter template indicates "1" lighting point documented at the bottom and the special circumstances box is the only way I see to get the letter template to do so.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks.
