My project has facades running along 2 sidewalks at the intersection of 2 streets. One side of the building is located directly along a sidewalk, while the second side has some open (grass-covered) area separating the building and the sidewalk. This open area is not being built on because it is not property of the owner but belongs to the city (Dept of Transportation). However, the project is building several walkways through it to create access to the main building entrances from that sidewalk/street. The Dept of Transportation has requested that NO new street trees be planted along that sidewalk. Would this still make the project acceptable for the credit, if the other sidewalk (the one facing the other façade & not under Dept of Transportation ownership) does have street trees meeting the credit requirement? Thank you!
Hi Julia,
I would be interested to hear your experience with submitting this credit.
Our project is located at an intersection of 2 main streets and we are planting trees per the credit requirement, however locating them between the woonerfs and the sidewalk (not to obstruct the view/safety while at the same time enhancing the walkability of the site and sidewalk).
