NC-2009 PIf1:Minimum Program Requirements

Exclude retail?

Our project has got some retail on the ground floor of an office building that the design team does not want to include in the LEED assessment. The retail area is completely separated from the rest of the building (there is no access from the office building to the retail or vice-versa). Can the project team decide to exclude the retail space?

MK, I recommend reading up on LEED Interpretation #10102 and MPR #2 Must Be a Complete, Permanent Building or Space for how to certify a building with incomplete space (such as your ground floor retail): http://www.leeduser.com/credit/NC-2009/MPR2
