Toilets for Disabled Users

Hi, Have you received any guidance with this? We have similar issue at our project.

We have tried this approach on a project where we determined the number of people who would use the toilets for diabled users as 2% of the total FTE. We have just submitted this and we are waiting to see if it will be accepted. Will keep you posted.

I am also interested to find out. MM K did you have a reply from LEED? Our project uses a completely different type of toilet and tap for disabled w.c.s than for the standard w.c.s and there doesn't seem to be any guidance elsewhere.

We have a similar case but for the lavatories. We have ADA lavs that are different from the rest. Has anybody found anything on the topic?

The WEp1 form assumes that 100% of male occupants will use restrooms that contain urinals; therefore, if a percentage of male occupants will not have access to or will be expected to use restrooms without urinals, then you will need to adjust the default Total Daily Uses in the form (uncheck the default box) for water closets and urinals accordingly. It is helpful to provide a narrative supporting your rationale regarding the percentage of male occupants that will not use urinals. Regarding ADA lavatories with a different flow rate (gpm), I would define a separate Fixture Group in the form to represent the occupants expected to utilize these restrooms. Likewise, it is always helpful to provide a narrative supporting how you determined the number of occupants expected to use this fixture. Hope helpful!
