NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Existing Envelop is unknow

As per requirement G3.1.5(f) baseline, any existing envelope, the baseline building design shall reflect existing conditions prior to any revision. What should i do if you dont know R-value of wall, roof , U & SHGC value of Glass. Any suggestion? Thank you Anil Bhari

Maybe you can go and inspect the building directly and find out the materials used, or asked the owners?

Owner does not know the U-value of glass, And existing insulation is lower than 90.1-2007, in this case should we have to go with existing or 90.1-2007 for baseline. Any suggestion

There are meters that can measure U-value of the glass. If you can;t find out or estimate the existing conditions then you can use the ASHRAE minimum values for insulation. For windows you can used the default values in Table A8.2.
