GLP vs. Natural Gas

Does LEED make a difference between GLP and Natural Gas? EAp2 template contemplates natural gas and electricity but we have showers that use GLP for domestic water heating. How should we approach that in energy modeling?

I am assuming you mean propane or liquid petroleum gas. You can enter any fuel type in the EAp2 form. As far as modeling goes I would assume that you could model that fuel type. You could model it as natural gas as long as you convert the results to adjust the fuel consumption since LP gas has a different BTU content than natural gas. If you do make sure you explain it to the reviewer.

That clarifies, thanks Marcus. We have another question though (unrelated to the fuel issue above) concerning a future elevator. The project is envisioning an elevator shaft, but the elevator itself will not be installed anytime soon. The equipment won't even be specified by the time of submission. However, the shaft will be in the architetcure drawings. What's the approach for that situation as far as energy modeling? Does the load of this elevator has to be taken into account? Thanks

I would not include it and just explain to the reviewer what you explained above.
