This pilot credit aligned perfectly with our project’s environmental and building operating cost reduction goals. The visibility provided is fundamental to the operation and management of a modern building. There are numerous benefits associated with the metering infrastructure we have installed, in terms of energy management, out of specification operation & fault diagnosis, cost centre based analysis etc. For a large scale industrial installation, the sheer volume of data available was an issue when it came to archiving. The extensive use of point-of-use metering is a considerable expense, however we have adopted a life cycle costing approach to this capital expenditure. In particular we have installed in excess of 200 electrical meters which provide excellent visibility of electrical consumption. This visibility has been the main driver behind this expenditure.
