Our office building (Major Renovation v3 2009), located at 3C climatic zone, doesn’t exceed 25,000 ft2 of conditioned floor area, but has more than one floor. Different users will have their own space and share some common areas. They will have control over Heating and Air Conditioning, but not over the Ventilation system, which will be subdivided by different façades orientation. The work schedule of the common areas will be the same for the whole building. The working areas energy settings have been defined by considering the same work schedule. We are planning to avoid isolation devices and controls for the ventilation system by using Exception c. “Zones intended to operate continuously or intended to be inoperative only when all other zones are inoperative.” Is that acceptable?
