NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

NREL TP-55-46101 “Grocery Store 50% Energy Savings” document

Does anyone know if the NREL TP-55-46101 “Grocery Store 50% Energy Savings” document can be referenced in the calcs for the baseline and proposed refrigeration equipment for the NC 2009 Retail EAp2 energy model? This is for a military project, and where better to get help than LEEDuser. The next step may have to be a CIR. Thanks, John

Hi John - LEED for Retail establishes baselines for refrigeration equipment.

Marcus, thanks. I am still wondering if this NREL guidance might qualify like an 'alternative compliance path' in leiu of the LEED Retail refrigeration requirements. The government client agency seems to have embraced this document in their design criteria, and revisions to the critieria at this tage might not be possible. Have you run into this before? John

It is probably a question of stringency. If the AEDG has a more stringent baseline it would likely be accepted but you would be leaving savings on the table. If the AEDG has a less stringent baseline it would likely not be accepted. Nope have not run into this.
