Hello! While using ASHRAE 62.1-2007, we are having a hard time trying to understand the provision that the cooking surface in an apartment needs to be within 25 feet of the façade with operable openings. My question is which portion of the cooking surface needs to meet this requirement? a. Leading edge of countertop? b. Centerline of appliance? c. Furthest face of the appliance/counter top? And, if they ventilate all the kitchens, does this requirement still hold true or are they free to locate the kitchen/cooktop back at the 30 foot dimensions as they typically do? Please help!
