LEED Default Recycled Content for Steel

But it is not that, to illustrate what I meant, it is accepted for example to use the default material cost while the real cost may be more or less than the default. Nevertheless, it is accepted by USGBC and it definitely benefits the project. For the second part of my question about the limitation of using the default recycled content for steel, here is the answer of your question Keith, I have many steel items in the project produced by small suppliers. There is a main steel trader in Egypt and many many small workshops that produce steel products from scraps and portion of raw materials. When we track the manufacturing process, we find that the producer of the the steel fence, for instance, has bought the pipes from a seller who, in turn, bought it from another bigger seller,... etc. At the end if you succeeded in finding the main producer, he won't provide the document because he doesn't trust that you really bought the pipes from his output.
