Solar Panels and selling energy

Hi, The credit language says "Provide shade from structures covered by solar panels that produce energy used to offset some nonrenewable resource use." Does this means that the solar panels generated energy must be used ON-SITE and panels that sell energy to the grid should not be counted? Thanks in advance!

HI Noriko, No, the energy the solar panels generate do not have to be used on site. This credit is just looking for shading of the pavement, which the solar panels will provide.
