NC-2009 WEp1:Water Use Reduction—20% Reduction

Template is rounding down to 0 daily uses!

I have a fixture usage group with 4 FTEs and there's a shower in it. Shower daily uses is 0.1, so the template calculates my total daly uses as 0.1 x 4 = 0.4 and it rounds down to 0. Therefore, my annual water consumption for both baseline and design case results as 0. Anyone with a similar problem? How can I solve this? Thanks

Hi Marcio, If you disagree with any of the default values (of total uses per day) given by the LEED form, you can fix it by just unchecking the "Default" box in the form table and entering the custom value. Nevertheless, you have to include a narrative detailing the non-default values that you've entered, which in your case are perfectly understandable.

Thanks Nadia. I tried to do what you suggested but even so the template won't accept a 0.4 value and it rounds down to 0 anyway. I think I will just uncheck the default and input 1 instead, it won't cause a drastic change in my consumption anyway. Do you think this would be a reasonable solution? Thanks,

Hi Marcio, I think using "1" would be a reasonable thing to do. Just remember to write the brief narrative explaining the non-default value you're using, and don't forget to mention it was due to malfunctioning or imprecision of the form, and maybe we've got a chance that they get the form fixed for future projects. Good luck!
