Option 4-Vehicle Sharing Program-Only cars for 8 comply?

The credit criteria for Option 4 clearly states that one LE/FE vehicle must be provided per 3% of the FTE . . . "assuming that 1 shared vehicle can carry 8 persons." The template also inserts 8 passengers in the online calcs. My university client has a long-established relationship with a car-sharing provider, but the cars are 5-passenger hybrids. What am I missing--are there 8-passenger LE/FE cars out there ? (like a hybrid Yukon?)--or should I file a CIR and request meeting the compliance with two 5-passenger cars instead of one 8-passenger car? I'd appreciate some mentoring--the 8-passenger requirement seems odd. Thanks very much!

I would document the 3% of FTE with 5 passenger then explain the math. Does the template do the math for you? Try submitting an ACP or explaining your math in a narrative. I've always thought the 8 passenger vehicles were those extended vans.

We have also been looking into this issue. It does not appear that USGBC/GBCI has stated any requirements on car occupancy. A car-sharing service typically can serve 8+ people per day with each car because multiple people can take the same car out at different times in the day, not necessarily all at once.
