I have a major window supplier that is providing us FSC certified wood windows. They are charging us a $9,500 fee above and beyond the typical window cost for "FSC paperwork". They have included this $9,500 fee with the cost of their FSC wood (Approx. $4,000) to come up with a total FSC wood value of $13,500. Will the total $13,500 be accepted by the reviewer? The only reason we are being charged the $9,500 is due to procuring and tracking FSC wood so I feel it should be accepted, but I don't want to find out later that it won't be and to fall under the 50% threshold. Any opinions?

The $13,500 product total should be accepted if a) the dollar value of the line item shown on the manufacturer's invoice is consistent with the value shown for the item in the LEED credit template/form; and, b) the dollar value of the line item is included in both the numerator and denominator of the MRc7 calculation. As a reminder, because the product is an assembly, only the value of the new wood portion of the product may be included in the credit calculation.

Hi Matthew - Is there any chance you can get the vendor to spread the paperwork fee out across the price of the FSC wood on their invoice? That should help cut the risk of any red flags. If they are charging a processing fee then they should be good at doing the paperwork... Doug
